Parsons Memorial Library teamed with the Alfred Historical Committee and the Alfred Conservation Commission to prepare and install this StoryWalk® for our community.  We hope you will enjoy "The Man Who Saved Books" by Maine author, Lynn Plourde.  It is a heartwarming message about the treasures to be found in books, in reading together, and in friendship.  Lynn grew up in Skowhegan and she sets her tale in the fictional community of Shiretown, Maine.  DI you know Alfred is known as "the Shiretown of York County?"  Look for details in the beautiful illustrations that highlight little things that make Maine special!
