Support Your Library
The Parsons Memorial Library is primarily funded by the Town of Alfred's appropriation budget. However, your generous contributions allow us to go above and beyond—funding special programs, enhancing our collections, and maintaining our historic facilities to better serve our community. Every gift, large or small, helps us carry out our mission.
Four Ways to Give Back

Board of Trustees' Discretionary Fund
Direct Local Impact
Supports immediate, flexible needs identified by the Board of Trustees (e.g., community outreach events, unexpected program costs, building repairs).
Donate with Cash or Check
Keepers of Parsons Memorial Library
Tax-Deductible & Long-Term Support
Supports the library overall mission and long-term sustainability. Ideal for donors needing a tax deduction (e.g., museum passes, Summer Reading Program, capital improvement campaigns).
Donate by Cash, Check, or Online

Fundraisers & Specific Services
Direct Specified Support
Links contributions directly to a specific, ongoing service or item (e.g., T-shirt proceeds fund programs like Chair Yoga; StoryWalk collaboration supported the Alfred Historical Committee One-Room Schoolhouse Restoration fund).
Donate by Cash or Check to specific support
In-Kind Support
Gifts of time & materials
In-kind contributions primarily include books, DVDs, and audiobooks that PML can then use to raise money during the annual book sale or add to our collection. These donations can also include other items as approved and accepted by library staff like stocking the Hot Beverage table.

The library is not currently seeking book, DVD, or audiobook materials as in-kind contributions.
