Home Delivery Service

Parsons Memorial Library is committed to serving all residents of our community.  If you are unable to visit the library due to illness, disability, or health-related condition, our Homebound Delivery Service ensures you can still access the materials you love, delivered right to your home.

What Can Be Delivered?

We offer a wide selection of materials chosen specifically for your reading preferences:

  • Books (Regular Print and Large Print)

  • Inter-Library Loans (ILL)

  • Magazines

  • DVDs & Blu-Rays

  • Audiobooks (on CD)

  • Access to Complimentary Cupboards (Puzzles, Yarn Crafts, etc.)

Eligibility Requirements

To ensure we can provide reliable service, patrons must meet the following criteria:

  • You must be a current resident of the Town of Alfred

  • You must be unable to leave your home environment due to illness, disability, or other health-related condition for a period of 30 days or more.

  • You must have an active Parsons Memorial Library card in good standing.  If you do not have a library card, you can sign up for one.

How It Works

The process is simple and tailored to you:

  • Complete and submit the application form below.

  • Library staff will contact you to discuss your reading interests, format preferences, and any specific delivery instructions.

  • Deliveries and pickups are scheduled twice a month.

  • Materials are checked out for the standard loan period, giving you plenty of time to enjoy them before the next exchange.

How To Apply

Ready to sign up for Homebound Delivery?  Choose the method that is easiest for you:

  1. Apply Online:  Fill out our Online Application Form and the Online Reading Preference Form

  2. Download & Print:  Download the PDF Application Form and mail it to the library.

  3. Call us:  Call the library at (207) 324-2001 and a staff member will complete the application over the phone with you.
