New Yoto Mini Audio Collection

You’ve heard of YOLO. That’s old news. Parsons Memorial Library has something that’s even more exciting. Meet our newest addition: The Yoto Mini! And what’s even more exciting is that we’ve got two, one you can check out and one to use inside the library.

You might be asking, “What the heck is a Yoto Mini?” Well, a Yoto Mini is a Yoto Player. The Yoto is an interactive audio device for children aged 3–12+ that doesn’t have a screen. It’s designed to play stories, music, and podcasts using physical, NFC-enabled cards, and stories are narrated without ads and without screens.

Recently, PML purchased two Yoto Mini Players and a wide selection of story cards. We’ve got everything from Winnie-the-Pooh to Pixar and the Pout-Pout Fish to Beatrix Potter.

The Yoto works by inserting a card into the card slot at the top, adjusting the volume to suit your needs, and listening to the story. You can find many of the physical books on our shelves, allowing young readers to follow along.

The Yoto Mini Player is an excellent tool for helping children learn to read, enjoy their favorite books, and is a nice alternative to screen time. Now, with the Yoto Mini, you can offer them book time!

There is a Yoto Mini at the circulation desk you can borrow while you’re at the library, or you can check out the Yoto Mini that’s able to travel, and take the stories with you. We have all the story cards at the desk, as well, so when you find what you’re looking for, bring the request card to the circulation desk and we’ll check your story cards out to you. New to Yoto? Stop by and we’ll show you how to use it!

Foster your child’s imagination with Yoto Mini and a world of storytelling possibilities, available at Parsons Memorial Library.
